On the 100th anniversary of Poland regained independence, we presented the most spectacular Bible in the publishing history of our country.
When we are talking about the 100th anniversary, we do not mean only freedom regained a many years later, when the shackles of communism were dropped. One of the characters who played a key role was the Holy Father John Paul II.
From the beginning of his pontificate, the Polish Pope managed patriotism and the pursuit of Poles for freedom. He awakened hope and encouraged him in moments of doubt. He gave strength that became the driving force of progress.
On the 600th anniversary of the birth of Johannes Gutenberg and to celebrate the 550th anniversary of publishing of the first book containing words printed with movable type, Pelplin Diocese Bernardinum Publishing Company with many lovers of the art started their efforts to publish a facsimile of the 42 – verse Gutenberg’s Bible.
Translation of the Greek Scriptures based on the text of Erasmus of Rotterdam made by the "father" of the Reformation.
The facsimile in the luxury version has been framed in a contemporary jewelry setting. In the stylized neo-Gothic arcade model of the canopy from the monument of Martin Luther in Wittenberg there is the emblem of the Protestant Reformation - designed by Marcin himself.
